1930 AUSTIN 7 ULSTER 4 cylinder 747cc. 3 Speed
History:
This car was restored from the ground up in the late nineties. It was built up with new aluminium Ulster body and modified with period parts to evoke the successful Austin 7 Ulster. There is an extensive history file documenting the restoration in detail. It included an overhaul of all the major mechanical components and most of the minor ones too. The standard of finish achieved is exceptional. It has a three speed box and will rev up to 5000 rpm . It has a new hood (never fitted) and regular windscreen. Finished in black with dark tan leather seats.
Recently the car was purchased with the sole intention of entering the 2018 VSCC competition season. It was race-prepared by Tim Walker Restorations. The car has been fitted with new tyres, oil and water catch tanks, rain driving light and all the other items required by the Scrutineers.
It is a credit to Guy Walker that the car never failed scrutiny at any VSCC event and has completed each event without fail.
During 2018 the car competed in the Vintage series at Silverstone, Mallory Park and at Donnington (a total of six races). It also competed in two Hill Climbs, Wiscombe Park (where it won a cup for second place in the handicap event) and Prescott.
The car also entered and successfully competed at the Pomeroy cup at Silverstone in February 2018.
This car is the perfect entry-level race car with still more potential or a fabulous road car. It is great fun to drive and not so fast as to get a novice driver into too much trouble.
